TRON energy: how to buy or rent it for USDT transfers
Updated 26 October 2026. Figures checked on TRON mainnet transactions and network parameters.
Short answer
Energy is the TRON resource that pays for smart-contract calls such as USDT transfers. A transfer needs 64,285 units, or 130,285 if the recipient has never held USDT. Without energy the network burns 6.43 TRX instead. Energy can be staked for, rented by the hour (1.03–1.54 TRX per transfer on the cheapest markets) or bought from a service.
| Way to get energy | Price per unit | Per transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Burn TRX (no energy) | 100 sun | 6.43 TRX |
| Stake TRX yourself | about 6,600 TRX locked per daily transfer | no fee, capital locked |
| Cheapest hourly markets | 16–24 sun | 1.03–1.54 TRX |
| Netts, 1 hour, by time of day (UTC) | 20–34 sun | 1.29–2.19 TRX |
| CatFee, 1 hour | 24–28 sun | 1.54–1.80 TRX |
| Quietfee, 1 hour or always-on | 39 sun | 2.51 TRX, paid in TRX or USDT |
| GasFree (fee in USDT, no energy needed) | — | 1.5 USDT, first 3.0 USDT |
How energy works
Staked TRX gives energy that refills over 24 hours: at network parameters on 26 October 2026 one staked TRX gives about 9.7 energy a day, so one transfer a day needs about 6,600 TRX locked. Whoever holds the stake can delegate that energy to any address. That is what energy markets sell: delegation to your address for a fixed time, after which it is taken back. Delegated energy can only pay network fees; it gives no access to the funds on the address.
Where to rent energy
Markets such as Netts, CatFee, TronSave, iTRX and TRONAgg rent energy by the hour or the day to any address, through a website, a Telegram bot or an API. Prices move during the day: Netts charged 20 sun an hour at night and 34 sun at the 14:00–16:00 UTC peak on 27 October 2026. You pay in TRX, usually from another wallet, and order before each batch of transfers.
Buying energy from Quietfee
Quietfee sells energy for an hour in packages of 1 to 100 transfers, and keeps energy on busy addresses all the time. It costs more than the cheapest markets: 2.51 TRX per transfer. In return you can pay in USDT on TRON, BSC, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Base or Solana, straight from an exchange, and the address you send from can hold zero TRX. Open the Telegram bot, send your address and choose a package; energy arrives within a minute or two of the payment being confirmed.
Safety
Renting energy needs only your public address. No legitimate seller asks you to connect a wallet or sign an approval for your tokens: that is how the “energy for 0.5 TRX” phishing schemes take USDT.
