Questions
How much does it cost to send USDT on TRON?
A USDT (TRC20) transfer uses 64,285 energy if the recipient already holds USDT and 130,285 if it doesn't. When the sending address has no energy, the network burns 100 sun per unit: 6.43 TRX or 13.03 TRX, plus about 0.345 TRX for bandwidth once the free daily allowance is used up. At $0.3308 per TRX that is $2.13 and $4.31 (26 Oct 2026).
How can I pay less for USDT transfers?
Have energy on the sending address before you send. You can stake TRX yourself (about 6,600 TRX locked for one transfer a day), rent energy on a market for each batch, or have a service keep your addresses supplied. The fee guide compares the options.
Do you need my private key or a wallet connection?
No. Only the public address. Energy is delegated to it on-chain, and only you can sign transfers from it.
What happens if my prepaid balance runs out?
Transfers keep working as before. The network simply goes back to burning TRX from your address until the balance is topped up.
What if I don’t use the whole package within the hour?
After an hour the energy goes back and the unused part is not refunded. Buy a package right before a batch of transfers and size it by the number of transfers in that batch.
Why does my wallet need a fee limit of at least 7 TRX?
The fee limit caps all the energy a transaction may use, delegated energy included: 7 TRX allows 70,000 units. A USDT transfer needs 64,285, or 130,285 to an address without USDT, which takes a limit of 14 TRX. Below that the transfer fails and the network still charges for it. Check the limit in your wallet settings or in your code.
How does the calculator work?
It reads the address's outgoing transactions for the last 7 days from TronGrid and adds up the TRX actually burned for energy. The monthly figure is that week × 30/7, so an unusually quiet or busy week moves it.
