How much TRX you need to send USDT TRC20
Updated 26 October 2026. Figures checked on TRON mainnet transactions and network parameters.
Short answer
To send USDT without energy, keep at least 6.43 TRX on the address, or 13.03 TRX if the recipient has never held USDT, plus 0.345 TRX for bandwidth once the free daily allowance is used. A simple rule: 14 TRX on the wallet and a fee limit of 14 TRX or more.
| Transfer | Energy | TRX without energy | Plus bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|
| To an address that holds USDT | 64,285 | 6.43 | 0 or 0.345 |
| To an address without USDT | 130,285 | 13.03 | 0 or 0.345 |
Why a new recipient costs twice as much
The USDT contract keeps a balance record for every holder. Sending to an address that has never held USDT creates that record, which takes 130,285 energy instead of 64,285.
Where the numbers come from
Energy per transfer comes from mainnet transactions. The burn price, 100 sun per unit, is the network parameter getEnergyFee and is the same for every address. Bandwidth is about 345 bytes per transfer; the first 600 bytes each day are free.
How to need less TRX
With energy on the address a transfer burns no TRX for energy at all. Compare the options in the USDT fee guide, or see what your address burns.
